2024 World Juniors: Canada Adds Senators Prospect Jorian Donovan To Camp
Canada has added defenseman Jorian Donovan to its 2024 WJC camp roster after Tanner Molendyk was injured in the team's pre-tournament game Friday.
Hockey Canada announced Thursday that Ottawa Senators draft pick Jorian Donovan has been added to the team's pre-tournament camp. The Brantford Bulldogs defenseman's addition comes after Nashville Predators first-rounder Tanner Molendyk went down with an apparent injury during Canada's pre-tournament game against Switzerland Friday.

It's important to note that Hockey Canada's announcement states only that Donovan has been added to camp and not to the team's roster at this point. There also was no other corresponding move mentioned meaning that Canada is still hoping they can get Molendyk healthy in time for the tournament.
Molendyk had missed a portion of the team's selection camp while recovering from an injury as well.

Tristan Luneau "not likely" to play on Saturday
So, Canada may be down to five d-men against ??
Anaheim Ducks prospect Tristan Luneau has also been unavailable for the team's pre-tournament games due to an apparent illness, per reports.
The IIHF allows each team to bring 25 players to the tournament, with only 23 allowed on the active roster at one time -- 20 skaters, three goalies. Once a player is replaced on the active roster, they cannot be added back to the team after. They also can only be replaced in the event of an injury or illness.
Canada opted to name just 23 players to its World Junior roster. They did the same thing last year, adding Owen Beck (MTL) late after injuries required a replacement player.
With Donovan in the mix, Canada now has 21 skaters as options for their roster. They play the United States Saturday in the final of three pre-tournament games for Canada before the puck drops for real on Dec. 26. Canada meets Finland in their tournament opener on Boxing Day.
Donovan was a participant in Canada's selection camp last week in Ontario, but was ultimately released before the team left for Sweden.
In 31 games with Brantford this season, the 6-foot-1 left-shot defenseman has 26 points, including eight goals in OHL action. He was selected by Ottawa 136th overall in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL Draft.
