The first round of the 2024 Clark Cup Playoffs wrapped up Wednesday evening, with three of the four best-of-three first-round series going to a decisive third game. Tri-City, Lincoln, Youngstown and Green Bay were the four teams to advance to this week’s semifinals.

NHL Central Scouting released its final rankings in advance of the 2024 NHL Draft, a list that includes several USHL players who saw their draft stock increase.

Head coach Greg Brown, in just his second year at the helm of the Eagles after taking over for Hockey Hall of Famer Jerry York, already has the top incoming freshman class in the NCAA for 2023-24. Now BC has landed the No. 1 uncommitted recruit in Long Island, N.Y. native James Hagens, who announced his verbal commitment Wednesday night in a joint Instagram post with his older brother, Michael. The Hagens boys will be heading to Chestnut Hill for the 2024-25 season.

The 2023-24 USHL season begins Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the DICK’s Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic near Pittsburgh, Pa.

PLYMOUTH, Mich. -- The 2023 World Junior Summer Showcase was just that, a tremendous showcase of high-end talent with many of the best players under the age of 20 in the United States on hand. The U.S. split its roster in two, White and Blue, while trying to evaluate candidates for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship.

USA Hockey announced its roster for the 2023 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup tournament. The event, which features under-18 teams from eight different countries including the U.S. and Canada, begins in Breclav, Czechia, and Trencin, Slovakia, July 31.

It’s the final stages of the 2023 NHL Draft season as all of the draft-eligible players have completed anything they can do on ice at this point. The playoffs across junior hockey and relevant European leagues have all concluded, international tournaments have handed out their medals. All that’s left is the NHL Scouting Combine this week in Buffalo and then NHL teams start making picks in Nashville on June 28.

It’s rare for a former player to have coached at two of his previous stops, but that’s exactly what the Fargo Force’s Nick Oliver has achieved.

It all comes down to this. The Clark Cup Final will feature two of the league’s most explosive teams as the Fargo Force meet the Youngstown Phantoms in a best-of-five series.
